Passionate Addiction is an intense, passionate, and truly sensational read! I liked the voyeuristic and endearing Blake Kennedy in Blind Attraction but I loved the man he is in Passionate Addiction. He is so multi-faceted and complex and I appreciated that he and Gabi established a relationship; albeit a long distant one, over the internet for years which gave their instant attraction from friends to so much more when they first met such authenticity.Gabrielle “Gabi” Smith volunteers for an online support group following a personal tragedy in her life. This experience makes her such a relatable down to earth character whom you cheer for to get her happily ever after with Blake, despite him having a brain fade moment when he shuts her out after his ex, Michelle, causes mischief.
Eden Summers gave me just the right amount of everything - hot sex, friendship, and romance all combined and layered together to really give me something that I enjoyed reading; not wanting to stop until I got to the very last page. At the last page, I had a complete sense of satisfaction and warmth in my heart for two characters who were so obviously more than just friends; people who were so realistic that I wanted to know them and be friends with them too.

I loved this book. I have read it many times since I first purchased it. Blake and Gaby have been communicating starting in chat rooms for drug addiction. Gabi being the supporter and Blake trying to stay clean. This book takes place years after they first met in a chat room. They emailed, texted and taking on phone for years but never met. They became best friends without seeing each other. Of course Gabi knows Blake is a famous musician. This book starts when they meet. I loved everything about this book. The fact they were already best friends and the drama that happens. Throughout the whole book you know these two are made for each other. A lot happens with other band members in this book. This is one of my favorites.
If you’ve been following my reading habits, you’ll know I’m a sucker for a rock star romance. I picked up Blind Attraction and was immediately hooked on the fictional band, Reckless Beat. Eden lavishes attention on every character, you can’t help but love every one of them. When I got an invitation to review Passionate Addiction, I jumped at the chance.
Blake Kennedy is the bassist for Reckless Beat. He is flirty, witty, and so funny. I fell for him so hard in Blind Attraction because of the chemistry between his character and his good friend Mitchell. The prologue in for this book solidified my love for him. You see his vulnerable side and not the cocksure, rich rock star. He opens himself to a person he doesn’t know in search of help for a personal problem, thus beginning a beautiful four year friendship. The kicker is that he has no idea what she looks like. But the bond they share goes beyond physical appearances. Gabi Smith is just a regular woman working part-time for an online support group. The last thing she expects is to connect with one of her online help seekers. Once she learns who he is, she keeps his secrets and becomes his best friend. I love that Eden gives these two a solid history and foundation together. I feel like they have a good, solid connection.
Eden writing in third person, which is my favorite POV. I like knowing what is going on in all the character’s heads. The plot flows smoothly, giving us a great amount of angst, romance, and banter between the characters. Eden gives you the realistic side of the rock star life–paparazzi, greedy ex-girlfriends, and groupies. It’s probably one of the reasons I love this genre so much. And Eden does a wonderful job working these elements into the plot.
Passionate Addiction is classified as an erotic read and that is what you get. The sex scenes between Blake and Gabi are hot as hell! Since they have a long distance relationship based on conversation only, I wondered what their meeting would be like. Let’s just say they don’t waste any time gettin’ it on. Blake lavishes attention on Gabi and we get all the delicious details. The sexual chemistry between them solidifies their relationship even more to the reader.
My favorite aspect of Eden’s writing is her attention to the secondary characters. She treats them as though they are main characters of the book. You really get to know every personality of each wonderful character. You look forward to their scenes, along with Black and Gabi’s story. It’s because of Eden’s attention to her characters that I want to read all of their future books.
Summing this all up, I like Passionate Addiction. Eden’s writing is terrific, characters are complex, and the plot keeps you engaged. I also really like the cover of this book. It’s eye catching and represents the book pretty well. I really look forward to future Reckless Beat books. I give Passionate Addiction by Eden Summers 4.5 out of 5 stars!

Blake was a mystery for me. Following the Reckless Beat journey, I knew that he stayed away from alcohol but never understood why. We finally learn about Blake’s demons along with all of his insecurities. His savior is Gabi, a person he started chatting with years ago who helped him through his darkest moments. Blake surprises Gabi and they finally meet in person after maintaining a 4-year friendship via text, chat and phone calls. Gabi is shocked to see Blake while at the same time being consumed by her feelings for him. This is a fabulous journey for two incredible friends that have felt so much more for years. When they finally come together, will they embrace their true feelings? Will secrets from their pasts tear them apart? Or will their own insecurities keep them apart? Another exciting rock star romance that swept me away into their exciting world hoping for love to find a way.
Gabi and Blake have never met, which is strange with them being best friends. They've only conversed online. Blake plans on changing that by surprising Gabi for her birthday. Blake plays bass with Reckless Beat and quickly becomes ensnared in the rock and roll lifestyle. He knows he has to clean up his act if he wants to ride out the success of the band, so he joins a chat room designed to help him with his addictions. There he meets Gabi. For four years they chat, never revealing too much other that the reason they are there. Blake needs to meet Gabi face to face. Soon their friendship blossoms into more. Blake's past threatens to ruin him and he decides to tackle this problem on his own. When Gabi finally finds out, it may be too late for her to save him.
